About the Film Misconceptions

A bubbly and accessible comedy for audiences of all ages and persuasions...MISCONCEPTIONS marks the feature film debut of Emmy-winning director Ron Satlof, who together with writer Ira Pearlstein, pokes light-hearted fun at the on-going culture war between same-sex parents and Christian conservatives in the United States.

SYNOPSIS: Unable to conceive a baby of her own, a Southern Evangelical woman, A.J. Cook (Final Destination 2; TV's Criminal Minds), receives a "divine order" from God to become the surrogate mother for a gay couple from the Northeast: Orlando Jones (Drumline, Time Machine), and David Moscow (Honey, Shattered). She gets more than she bargained for when the anxious parents-to-be move down south to "supervise" the pregnancy and take on the local Christian community.

MISCONCEPTIONS recently screened in the official section of the Montreal World Film Festival, and will be released theatrically in the U.S. in early Q1 2010 through Regent Entertainment in five major U.S. cities on a platform basis.

MISCONCEPTIONS is available worldwide (ex-U.S. and Canada), in all media, and for immediately delivery.
